I visited  books a million and I could find diffrent type of the magazine such as scientific, photography, movie, computer, home decoration, fasion...etc I was interested read about art, the 'New American Painting' provided me to know about American artist as well as their unique style of techniques. There are some artworks grapsed me, for instance, Jason Bard Yarmosky's paintings,  'Ballerina' by yarmosky based on comtemporary concept of art but he used traditional oil painting.

Due to I have lack of mix the colours the Rebecca Robert's painting  gave me some good ideas of how match and relate the vivid colours.

When I was in high school, my art teacher highly recommended Stephen Farthing’s 1001Paintings You Must See Before You Die. It was provided a wide range of seeing and depth of artistic way of thinking.
This book also made me feel I walked into the galleries. It was inspired me get some great ideas and helped artistic skills. It enriched my artwork style, understanding of art history, and art knowledge. In the future, if someone thinking to become an artist I would highly recommend this book* ^_______________^*

The East Meets The West-②

This is a second verison of the concept of "The East Meets The West" for symbolise the fusion of Eastern and Western cultures, a melting pot of peoples, their traditions and styles, and their ways of living past century.
Ideas for this piece evolved from photographs taken from my travels as well as media such as movie, news, book and internet. My albums are an amalgam of traditionally Oriental scenes and Western images which is featuring the cultural diversity.

Stunning young women representing various countries, proudly wear their national costumes and embody a community spirit of peace and goodwill. Travel magazines and television shows also capture famous historical landmarks, national architecture and the culture and traditions of various world destinations.

5th march

Last semester I learned draw by using the charcoal. It was challenged, because I always worked with graphite but this tool was hard to control the making depths and sensitive lines. However, the several master copy process helped to develop the techniques.

『Example works』The faces of humanity and a diversity of emotions.

The next art works will reflect by  Kathe Kollwitz's  'Woman with Dead Child’and Edvard Munch's 'The scream'. Their works are characterized by their focus on humanity and a diversity of emotion. The artworks convey feelings such as suffering, pain, hopeless by drawing upon their personal experiences of the life. I inspired by their likewise captures and it is challenge me to produce the major piece.

German artist Kathe Kollwitz's (1867-1945) etching work, ‘Woman with Dead Child’(1903) reflects on the near death of her eldest son, Hans and conveys the profound suffering and sorrow she experienced after his death during World War I.

I feel overwhelmed with sympathy by the way this poor mother is seen clutching her child, unwilling to let go. It seems like she wants to experience more of her child, more time, more emotion and more experiences.I cannot personally imagine how she must have felt but I can see in my minds eye the pure torture one would suffer having to live a life without their precious child – one which you brought into this world.  The enormity of her sorrow in this piece seems to leap off the page and into my heart...

Edvard Munch’s(1863) childhood experiences and memories were the subject of many of his emotional paintings. The Scream (1895) is the most famous of his paintings offers a disturbing depiction of the anxiety and melancholy that Munch experienced at that stage of his life.
When I look at this powerful painting, I can relate to several times in my life when I felt completely overwhelmed by my emotions and literally wanted to scream so that I could release the tension building inside of me. Feelings of intense pain, horror and helplessness are common to humanity. It is extraordinary how some people cope with the pain and heartache they are forced to endure, such as the loss of a child or a lover’s betrayal.

The East Meets the West

My art work ‘East Meets West’ was inspired by my past journeys. Cultural diversity is bridging the gap between eastern and western  cultures.

The major challenges that I faced during my work on this piece was developing an understanding of the combination between Eastern and Western culture and finding a balance. It took much thought to conceptualise the building. The other complication was capturing the ornate and intricate detail in the princess’ national costume. The green and gold silk brocade gown features a dragon and a pheonix. Each delicate line had to be carefully drawn. This proved to be a very challenging exercise given that I was using water color. I experimented with several techniques to capture the true essence of the traditional gown :)
