I think your figures are beautiful Jane! They feel fragile, or maybe peaceful, depending on how you look at them. I love the contrast in tempurature in the one at the top.
These images have a lot of emotion and thought conveyed through them, which is very good to see. A lot of times with paintings of figures, it's obviously just a pose for a painting and nothing more; no depth, no thought. These, however, make one wonder what's going on... They both seem to be fraught with some sort of weight. The top one is frustrated to me; the bottom one is sad.
As far as technique, I really like the abstract nature of these paintings. It does a lot for the overall image.

ReplyDeleteThese are life paintings so the model did good poses. The figure paintings is very hard for me so.. I need some more practices :(
